I have yet to find store bought #treats that live up to their hype. I #love my baby, #Chachi and he deserves the best! So, yes, I am one of those weirdos who tries the #dogtreat before I give it to #Chachi. I know what you're thinking, "Eew! How could you put that in your mouth, gross!" But, if it's not good enough for yout to eat, why should your #pet? Anything we feed out #pets should be #foodgrade and #humangrade.
Who made up the stupid rule that #pets deserve less than quality #ingredients, anyway? I think it goes back to believing that somehow, #animals are below us or less than us. I grew up to understand that #dogfood was not for humans and vice versa. Now, I do know, from experience and research, that there are some foods that aren't #safe for consumption by #pets, only because their digestive systems are different. So, listen to your vet's advice. But, the fact is, man and animals share this planet. The food is available to us equally. So, why do we feel that #mansbestfriend deserves only our scraps, literally! If they are truly our bff's, we owe them much more!
That's why I sample #Chachi's #treats for him. Those #treats that claim to be peanut butter flavored or have rosemary and sweet potatoes( mmm, making me hungry), taste like bland crackers to me. Try one for yourself, it won't kill you or turn you into a #dog, promise! But, you will see what I mean. Do you wanna continue to throw your money into these expensive store bought #treats without being sure you got what you paid for? That being said, I have seen in recent months, more and more store brands of #dogfood and #dogtreats changing their #ingredients for the better. They are not quite there, but, I applaud their efforts.
I like to make #Chachi's #treats at home. We really enjoy it! He is my official taster and when they are ready, he gets the whole batch! It's a win/ win for Chachi! Of course, he shares with me and I eat my fill. They are good when they're made with the right #ingredients. When I make em at home, I can taste the blueberries and peanut butter. The only difference, in my opinion, is that the #dogtreat #recipes use only foods that are safe for your #pets digestive system. Even though these homemade #treats are better for your #pets, still feed them as #treats only and in moderation. Even with better #ingredients, #pets can still eat too many and upset their little tummies.
That's why I was so happy to meet Amandine Miller of, Chloe's Barkery Gourmet Pet Treats. She was a young woman with an attractive presentation of her inventory on display at #PetFest2015 in #SanMarcos. This full service #dogbakery is located in #NewBraunfels, Texas. Proprietor, Amandine, was very pleasant and knowledgeable about her products. She makes, #dogtreats, #jerky, chips, and other seasonal goodies.
All these and more made from 100% natural, #petfriendly #ingredients, which is tested and approved by Chloe the dog! #Chachi and I would love to try the Mutt Mix, which is a combo pack of all the #dogtreat options on the menu! Sounds good! And, best of all, all of the #treats made by Chloe's Barkery are made in the USA. Let's keep supporting our local #smallbusinesses, like this one and of course, me the #familypetnanny!
You can find Chloe's Barkery on #Pinterest, #Instagram, #Facebook, and #Twitter. You can call Amandine and Chloe to find out more info on their selection of #treats and services at : 830-221-5168.
